DANNEVIRKE SHOW
The Dannorirke District A. and P. Association's ninth annual show, which will bo held on February 13 and 14 next, promises to maintain its usual attractive standard. This year all the usual competitions will be held, viz., maiden hunters, ladies' hunters, pony jumps, turning and driving ■ competitions, wire jumps, open hunters' competitions, also sheep dog trial event, which is now one of the most popular in many show programmes. In the •cattle sections particularly interesting competition is expected in view of several new challenge trophies allotted to certain breeds, apart from those alreadv competed for on one or more occasions. Trophies are offered in practically 'all sections—horses, cattle, sheep, dairy produce, home industries, and dogs. The scope <>f the dog section has been further extended this year, and there is a long list of challenge cups and trophies, in addition to a liberal money appropriation. Dairy factory managers are reminded of the challenge trophies and gold medals for export butter and export cheese respectively; and the many school children who competed last year will no doubt quickly get to work preparing their exhibits of grasses and clovers. In this class there was a large entry last year, and with the experience to guide them they will no doubt be able this time to improvo upon both their 'ollections pnd the' arrangement of same. The full schedule of classes may be obtained from the secretary, Mr. F. C. Stubbs, Ward Street, Dannevirke.
