FATAL BICYCLE ACCIDENT.

By Tolcgraph-Prcas Association. Invercargill, January 14., George Gordon, while riding a bicycle down a hill at lliverton, suddenly lost control of the machine; which ran over an embankment. Gordon sustained severe injuries to his head, and died two hours later. MARRIED COUPLE DROWNED. Napier, January 14. •V double drowning accident occurred to-dav at the Cabbage. Tree crossing of the Tuki Tulci Hirer, near Hastings, the Tulci Tuki River, near Hastings, James Meary and his wile losing their lives. Mr.'and Mrs. Meary were employed ns a married couple on Mr. J). M'kcnssie's station. The _ deceased were crossing the river, winch is in flood, in a trap, which upset. Later on the horses were rescued, and the man's body was recovered, but that of tho wife has not yet been found. A FATAL'FALL. Auckland, January U. A man about 30 years of age, believed to he William Cathro, a teacher from the King Country, died in the Hospital to-night as the result of a fall down the a public convenience.
