TROUBLE BREWING ON THE CLYDE

OVER GOVERNMENTS NEW MANPOWER BILL. (Rec. January 14, 10.5 p.m.) London, January 14._ A conference, of the Clyde committees of the Engineering and Shipbuilding Federation met at Glasgow and considered the new man-power proposals. It was resolved to instruct the executive council to request the Government to withdraw the new ManPower Bill before the end of January. Failing this, they would ask the Clyde members to down tools.

The conference also askedthe Government to call nn international conference to discuss peace.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
