The Right Eon. W. F. Massev, Primo Minister, will return, from the South Island to-morrow morning.

Sir James Allen, Minister of Defence, expects, to leave Wellington for the south to-morrow evening.

The Hon. A. M. Myers is to return from Auckland to-day.

The Hon. J. A. Hnnan, Minister of Education, left for the south last night.

Mr. Vernon Reed, M.1 , ., is at present in Wellington.

Colonel A. Hume, of Wellington, formerly Inspector of Prison:, is confined to his bed through illness.

Advice has been received that Lieutenant A. A. Browne, son of Mrs. M. A. Browne, 5 Ross Street, Kilhirme, who was reported womided on November 30, is now slightly wounded, but remaining with his unit. Mr. P. G. Le Grove, who suffered a compound fracture of tho leg when thrown from a trap at Stoke, Nelson, last month, is now an inmate of Nurse Lucas's private hospital in Willis Street.

Mr. Gi ••■3 Robinson, who letired fern tlio'j. intl and Survey Department six nionl-hs ago, after 40 years' service, died at Fendalton, Christeluirch, a few days ago. After taking part in a croquet match lie cycled home, and died soon afterwards from a heart seizure.

The death occurred on Saturday night of Mr. Arthur Marsden, a highlyreepected resident of Petone. A successful operation for an internal trouble had been performed, and Mr. Mnralen was progressing satisfactorily, wlie.ll lie suffered a relapse, from which lie did not rally. The late Mr. Marsdon was horn in Derbyshire in 1957. and had teen in charge of the preserving department, at the Genr Comnnnv s works at Petone for the past thirtyfive years. He was an enthusiastic howler, and was at one time president of the Petone Club. Mr. Mnrsdeu was married at Kaikoura, and had one daughter and three sons, one <if whom (Lieut. Stanley Marsden) was killed in France a few months np.o. The other sons are: Mr. Charles Marsden (encinper on an overseas vessel) i> ml Mr. 1.-slie Marsden (a teller nt the Hrev Street branrh nf the National Bank of Now Zealand). Mr. 0. J. Realces, director of the stock division of the Department of Agriculture, hns been visiting Auckland on Departmental business. Mr. M. Rudd, of the Union Steam Ship Company, Auckland, is to leave for Fiji where he will take over tlio company's office for a few months.
