A local owner has lately been negotiating tor the pnrehaso of a three-year-old golding by Gold Orest. from a Mahakl mare. Tho youngster will probably go into J. TV. Scott's stables at Trcntharo.
Tho Wosfc Australian spoilsman, Mr. P A. Connolly, scored his fourth success in the West Australian Derby, when Green Lord carried his coloors to victory on Boxing Day. Green Lord is known in tho West as tho bottlo baby. His dam, Lady Agnes, died a few days after tho colt's birth, but tho youngster <lld re markably well on cow'b milk, and is now a fino specimen of tho thoroughbred.
Favourites won every event at Hand wiclt on Boxing Day. and the bookmakers lost so heavily that several of them ran out of cash boforo the closc of proceedings.
Trentbam-trained horns figure largely in tho entries for tho Pahialua meeting. J. Ayres has engaged Justification and Mill Queen. J. M'Laughlin has Blairfindo and Tho Golfer engaged.
