BRITISH RAID ACROSS THE PIAVE CAPTURE OF A MACHINE-GUN ~ POST. London, January 10. Mr. Ward Price, official Press representative on the Italian front, describes the thoroughness of the British preparations for tile raid across the Piave, which resulted in the demolition of a machine-gun post and the capture of the garrison. The raiders, for a week previous to the raid, rubbed themselves daily with camphorated oil. They crossed in ice-cold water, waist-deep, aided by a rope, and afterwards marching for some miles to restoro their warmth.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
