HOSPITAL SHIP TORPEDOED
OUTSIDE THE BARRED ZONE
RED CROSS USED AS A TARGET
ALL THE WOUNDED SAVED
London, January 9. The Admiralty reports: Tho British hospital ship Rowa was torpedoed and sunk in the Bristol Channel at midnight on January 4, coming from Gibraltar. All its wounded were saved, but three Lascars belonging to the crew are missing. The Rcwa ivas displaying all the lights and markings required by the Hague Convention. Sho was not, and had not been, within the so-called barred zone.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.—Router.
