FATAL FALL IN STABLE .YARD.

An inquest was held yesterday afternoon by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., touching the death of ■ Charles Jloy MooSxingaii, aged 29, horse trainer, of Trentham,' who died' in the Wellington Hospital on January 8 from the effects of injuries received in a fall in. a stable yard. . Henry Kingan, horse trainer, residing at Trentham, said that the deceased Charles Roy Moore Kingan was he brother. He was a single man, aged 29, and resided with witness at Prentharn. He also was a horse, trainer. His brother had been drintag heavily for Borne time. On January 8, the date of the accident, he was suffering from tho effects of drink, but was following his usual occupation. 'While witness was in the stable about 9 a.m. deceased was crossing the stable yard, and on hearing a scream witness went into tfce yard and saw deceased fall. Another brother, Edwin Kingan, was in the yard, and also saw deceased fall. Witness picked up deceased, and took him into the whare unconscious. A doctor was obtained from the Military Camp, and he ordered the injured man to be taken to the Hospital. Witness was under the impression that the deceased had bad somo drink that morning, which would account for his falling. Edwin Kingan, another brother, gavo corroborative evidence. . The medical evidence was to the ettect that the skull was fractured near jthe temple. His condition was hopeless from the outset. Compression of tue brain was threatened, and an operation was performed. He never regained consciousness from the time of the accident. The verdict was that death was caused by cerebral compression, due to injuries to the head.
