THE DOMINION TOURXAJIECT

Tlie fifth amiiinl championship tournament of the Now Zealand JJowling Association will commence at Diiiiediii to-day. the Cliampion Kinks, SO I'liilcs have entered, the .same number as competed in WA, when tho event was won by Porteous (Wellington), l'ountain (Roslvn) seeurinn second position, M'Curdy (St. Kilda) third, and Stephens (Petouo) fourth. In 1915 tho coni est was held in Auckland, whon 09 rinks participated. J. A. Naah (Palmorston Novth) was the winner, E. J. Hill (To Hiwi) being runnerup, Muir (Dominion Road, Auckland) third, and Jury (Karangahnke) fourth. Cliristclmrch was the scene of action in 1916, when 72 rinks presented tliemselves. J. Laughton "(Newtown) was the winner, 11. Torranco (Christclmreh) runner-up, andLainfr OYaimate) and Fountain (Roslyn) filling the other positions. In 1917 Wellington was tho locale, and 136 rinks competed. The winners were: Osmond (Auckland), with A. S. Spiller (United) second, Smart (New Plymouth) third, and Schauer (Oneluuiga) . fourth. At tlio approaching tournament Dnnedin has 31 rinks engaged. Christchurch 17, tho North Island 22, wliile the balance nre drawn from other centres in the South Island.

PETONE V. RAILWAYS. The annual match between tho Potono Bowling Club' and the Railways will take place on the Petone green next Saturday. The following will represent the club:—Mudge, Casolo, Findlay, Beynon (s.); Doneghue, Smith, Cowie, Helliuish (s.); May, Dixon, Walton, Wylie (e.); Gilmour, Curtis, Hay, P. M'Artlmr (s.); Commetti, Eonni'e, Dr. Eoss, Wcarne (s.); Ehnnos, Jones, Hutchinson, R. M'Ewen (s.). The following will represent the Railways:—Hutohinson, J. Widdop, J. Bargh, Munro (s.); Comishley, Wynne, Batten, Widdop (s.); Hood, Naughton, Davy, Stephens (s.); Bush, Allan, Kirk, Firth (s.); Matthews, Hope, Cooper, E. Robertson (s.); Pearson, Hobbs, Lowthwaite, Laurie (s.). The Hataitai Club's t-eams for Saturday v. Te Hiwi, at Tβ Hiwi, are as follow:—Renner, T.bwnsend, Williams, Pryor (s.) ; Young, M'Gregor, Gyles, Croswell (s.).

Karori Juniors, at Hataitai.—Purnell, Little, Brown, Baddeley (s.).

The following players will represent the Seatoun Club against Lyall Bay on Saturday next:—Away—Carey, J. Bradley, M'Lennan, Wyatt (s.). At home—M'Farlane, Kircher, Magill, Green (s.).
