RETURNED SOLDIERS ARRIVE
TRANSPORT IN WELLINGTON. A New Zealand transport, conveying returned draft No. 129, reached Wellington Into yesterday afternoon, and was berthed a few minutes after 7 p.m. There was a big crowd of relatives and friends to meet the men. The Prime Minister (the lit. Kon. W. F. Massey), the Minister of Defence (Sir James Allen), the Commandant of the Forces (Sir Alfred Robin), and the Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke) were among those 'who went aboard to welcome the returned soldiers informally. The Wellington men were landed after 7.30 p.m. Tho Mayor had asked for motor-cars to convey the men to their homes, and there was a good muster of the Wellington Motor Reserve, tinder Cnptnin Pryor, in addition to many other private ears. The soldiers were distributed quickly. The Canterbury and Otago sections of tlie draft will reach their homes to-day and to-morrow.
