He was elected M.1 , , for St. John's in 1885, and entered the Cabinet four years later. Ho represented Ids colony at the Imperial Defence Conference of 1909, and at the Imperial Conference of 1911; and has received the Freedom of the chief cities of England and Scotland, find honorary degrees from the leading universities. Saturday's message stated that Sir Edward Morris was likely to be. appointed High Commissioner in London.]
