TRAMWAY HOLIDAY REVENUE
SMALL INCREASE ON LAST YEAR. It was surmised that the tramway revenue would suffer considerably by the dull. and broken weather that lias been experienced during the Jiolidavs, but it is satisfactory to note that an increase, though a small one, was re* corded. The figures for the wot Christmas Eve were exceptionally good, but those for New Years Eve (following a wet and boisterous day} and for New Year's ''Day (when it rained throughout the afternoon and evening) show a considerable falling off. It is estimated that the wet -weather on New Year's Day was responsible for a decrease of at least £250. The return? for the actual holidays are as follow:— 3916-1917. ]917-1918 £ s. d. £ b. rt Christmas Eve 868 2 3 1,185 6 1 Christmas Day 440 17 9 416 12 9 Hosing Day 761 0 7 681 15 1 Now Year's Eve ... 655 10 4 887 6 3 New Year's Day ... 673 2 10 399 7 0 «,408 14 2 £3,570 7 8
