BELIEVED TO HAVE RUN INTO A MINEFIELD. London, December 31. Naval experts are of opinion that the threo destroyers recently lost ran into a minefield laid by a submarine minelayer. The "Daily Mail" connects the episode with Sir John Jellicoe's retire-ment.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The three British destroyers referred to T7oro officially reported on December 29 to have been sunk by mine or torpedo off tie Dutch coast during the night of December 22, with the loss of 13 officers and 180 men. Sir John Jellicoe's resignation from the position of First Sea Lord of the Admiralty was reported on December 26.]
