TWO NAVAL VESSELS LOST
MINESWEEPER AND BOARDING STEAMER TORPEDOED. (Rec. January 1, 11.5 p.m.) London, January 1. The Admiralty reports:—"The minesweeping sloop Arbutus was torpedoed, and foundered in severe weather. The commander, another officer, and seven men are missing. The boarding steamer Grive was also torpedoed and sunk, but thoro were.no Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
