A fire occurred in th« workroom of Mr. T. M'Cracken, upholsterer, at an early hour on Friday morning. T.hu Firo Brigade was speedily on tie spot, and the damage done was not material. A solo competition was hold by the Masterton Municipal Silver Band ou Thursday evening. The sonior competition was won by Mr. J. Stalker (bass), and the junior by Mr. H. Johnson (cornet). Mr. H.
