Finding that a loan of £5000 for street-lighting purposes cnnuot be raised,'the Featherston Borough Council has decided to adopt a small scheme of lighting as a temporary expedient during the war period. For a 3imilar reason the council has postponed proceeding in the matter of carrying out permanent street improvements. The Featherston branch of the Liverpool Equipment OoHimittee has nr.de arrangements in connection with the entertainment of the soldiers in csmp at. Christmas. The Wnirarapa Hut Fund hue benefited to tho extent of £30 as the retult of the recent Featherston Flower Show.
