The Press Bureau says that with the object of abolishing the food queues Lord Rhondda, Food Controlle-, has empowered tlio local committees to control the supplies of margarine and arrange for an equitable distribution between the shops in their districts. Ho has also empowered tho committees to requisition and transfer _to other shops in their _ districts tho oxcess , supply winch any B j lo p holds beyond its accommodation and capacity for selling. A further order will bo issued_ conferring wide powers on the committees to prevent queues, and probably forbidding retailers to sell butter, margarine, and other foodstuffs except to customers registered with them.—Aus.-N.Z.
