SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
Another very enjoyable l concert was hold in tbo Institute of tho .Sailors' Friend Society oil Thursday night, Mrs. Douglas being responsible lor arranging for the various items on Die programme. Thciproceedings were opened with tlio singing of the .well-known hymn "Eternal Father Strong to &avo, followed by a short prayer by tno Missioner. Songs were given by Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. AVycherley, Mr. O'Connor and Master .Kennedy; a monologue by Mr. Frank Windsor; and recitations by.'Mr.-Fergus Reeves, Miss Neale, and Master Nealc, each item without exception being encored. 'Mrs. Walker was at the ■piano. '.laster Kennedy, a littlo sailor lad in l the audience, had to bo coaxed into singing, but when ho did get going lie was a pleasant snrpriso to everybody. The playing and singing of popular by Mrs. Douglas were joined in heartily by the sailors, and the usual snortstoiy competition added considerably to tho enjoyment of the evening. \ vote of thanks to Mrs. Douglas a:i'.l her party was carried enthusiastically by the sailors.
