H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND
VISIT TO THE DOMINION SHIP.
"Whilst on tour I took the opportunity of visiting the battle-cruiser New Zealand," wrote Sir Thomas Mackenzie some weeks ago. "I can assure you that no ship bears a hotter .lame than docs our vessel, and the men en board believe that she has a charmed life. I was shown all tho magnificent trophies that had been presented t< her in various parts of the world, and I saw the marks of her encounters. I was received by the captain and officers, and the men danced a haka. by way of welcome. "Afterwards I wont round tho fleet, and was greatly interested in ibo various developments. There were* largo ships constructed to carry aeroplanes; huge aerial vcssols go into = tails on the ships like so manj horses, and there are decks for their landing. Tho men aro eager for a scrap with tbo Germans, and I am sure that when it comes they will show that the British sailor of the present can maintain tho very highest traditions of tho service."
