IN 1908

WHAT THE KAISER WROTE FOR A MAGAZINE. New York, December 17. The New York '"Tribune" declares that the Kaiser, in_ 1908, predicted tb.B world war in an interview printed in the "Century Magazine," and which was suppressed before publication, at Germany's urgent request. All the copies were burned except one, which is intact, and shows that the Kaiser charged England with neutralising Germany's growing power. The interview reeked with abuse of King Edward 'and slander' of tho Catholic Church in Germany and elsewhere. The Kaiser characterised the Anglo-Jap'in-ese Alliance as non-Christian.—Aus.-N.Z.
