DISOBEDIENCE AND DESERTION
According to Trentham Camp Orders, 70,741 Pte. S. Stapleton, Trentham Details, found guilty of disobeying a lawful command given by his superior officer, has been sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for two. years. 63,007 Pto. F. W. H. Langdale, Trentham Details (late Thirty-first Reinforcements), found guilty when ou active service of deserting His Majesty's Service, has been sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for six months. The sentence has been mitigated so that if tho accused embarks for active service out of New Zealand before the expiration of his sentence, then, on arrival at tlio overseas base of the unit to which he is posted, the unexpired portion (if any) of his sentence shall be remitted and his records endorsed accordingly.
