A representative of Thk Dominion recently called on Mr. A. J. Parton, the well-known dairy engineer of Carterton, who specialises in cheese-factory requirements, particularly in tho manufacture of tho celebrated Victor Cheeso Vat. Knowing of the shortago of steel, the reporter asked Mr." Parton how he had been able to cope with the business offering, and what were the prospects for carrying on in the future. Mr. Parton 6tated that as he was exceedingly understaffed, as so many of his experts had gone to serve their country in other ways than, making cheese vats and dairy tans, ho hardly had time to discuss the pros and cons of such a big question during working hours. However, ho permitted the reporter to peruse n file.of orders received for cheese vats alone, and tho file was a bulky one. Orders have been received, and the vats delivered, to such places as O'Kain's Bay, Akawa.Raugiora, in Canterbury, Wataroa, and luterWanganui in Westland; Waitohi, E«i Valley, Kaikoura, Havclock, in Marlborough; Waimoa in Nelson; Woodville, Takapau, Norsewood, Matamau, Ormondville, Taradale, Dannevirke, Hoplands, Papataua, Piripiri, Tipapafcuku, and Takiomoa, in Hawke's Bay; Ahiarube, Bolvedere, Dalefiold, Featheistou, Haihua, Hukanui,. Kaiparoro, Nireaha, Kaituna, Kuku, Mangaroa, Paraparauniu, Parkvale, Eahui, Eongokakaho, Taihorea, Te Horo, Kaponga, Norfolk, Sunny P.irk, and Hikurangi, in tho Auckland district. Orders received from such a very >\ido scopo of country speak well for tho confidence of factory managers in the special vat mado by Mr. Parton. A sheaf of letters was also produced, received from satisfied managers, wlio seem to have no Hesitation in stating that they are.more than satisfied with the way these vats turn out tho cheese, E-egarding tiie scarcity of the special class of steel, Mr. Parton said that he had been fortunate enough to land most of what ho had ordered and had been ablo to deliver -nth reasonable promptness. As to tho future, well, that was too obscure for him to say much about it, but he was still m a position to carry out a few orders, and thcro was no telling but that moro steol misht yet come to hand. Mr. Parton lately carried out tho erectioh"of the complete factory plant for the now cheese factory at Whitenuus Valley, Tipper Hutt. In addition to tho dairy engineruij,', sanitary plumbing and lfator works is undertaken, and Mr. Parton guarantees satisfaction to all who avail themselves of the services of this up-to-date establishment, Sovoral jobs aro at present under way at Greytown, whero tho drainage system is just Hearing completion—(Published by arrangenienL)
