G. llumo, It.N.Z.A., is seconded for duty to New Zealand (September 2): Uapt. 11. H. Whyte, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of divisional trench mortar officer, but remains seconded whilst attached for training to Imperial Ordnance Department (September 5). Lieut. E. It. Michaels, having been declared by a medical board to bo unlit for general service within twelve months, is seconded under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 34 (August 29). Tunnelling Company: Capt. J. D. Holmes relinquishes the appointment oi adjutant (August 26). Lieut. 11. Watkinson to be adjutant, and is granted tho acting rank of captain whilst sc employed (August 26). Infantry. Auckland, Regiment: Major N. F. Shepherd is transferred from Canterbury Regiment, appointed to command 4th (Reserve) Battalion, and is granted tlio temporary rank of lieutenantcolonel whilst so employed (September 15). Recti is sentenced by General Court-martial, held on August 15, 1917, to tako rank and precedonco in the N.Z.E.F., as if bis appointment to the rank of cnptainJ boro date August 15, 1917. N.Z. Maori (Pioneer) Battalion. — The undermentioned lieutenants to bo captains: J. H. Hall (August 1), ?. Kaa (August 71, E. 11. M. Broughton (August 14). Lieut. 11. Leaf is granted tho temp, rank of captain (September 14). ; Other Units. N.Z. Alaohine-gun Corps.—The undermentioned lieutenant uro granted the temp, rank of captain; G.' W. Horn (July 30), C. M. Smith (September 1). N.Z. Army Service Corps.—Capt. It. Jl. Quinn, having been declared by a medical board to bo unlit for general servico within twelve months, relinquishes command of No. 1 N.Z. (Div.) Empl. Company, but remains seconded under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Hog. 34 (September 5). Lieut. P. H. Harper to be captain (August 27). N.Z. Medical Corps.—The designation of the D.D.M.S., N.Z.E.F., will in futuro bo D.M.S., N.Z.E.F. Lieut. H. B. Mackenzie, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of tho N.Z.E.F. (September 15). Major A. V. Short, M.C., M.8., relinquishes tho appointment of D.A.D.M.S., N.Z. Div. (September 13). Major B. H. Walton, M.D., F.R.C.S., to be D.A.D.M.S., N.Z. Div. (September 13). N.Z. Medical Corps—Capt. C. E. TVyott is dismissed from His Majesty's service by sentence of a court-martini held on August 21,1917, and is ingly struck off the strength, of the N.Z.E.F. (August 22). Capt. D. B. Green is removed from tho N.Z. Roll and transferred at his own request to Canterbury Regt. with rank of lieutenant, with seniority, from September 15, 1917 (September 15). N.Z. Army Pay Corps.—Capt. F. Prideaux to bo auditor, N.Z.E.F., and is granted tho temp, rank of major and seconded whilst eo employed (September 15).
