A young man, John M'Kay, was charged at tho Magistrate's Court today with (1) stealing a postal packet containing a 10s. bank-note; (2) making a fraudulent statement that ho did post a packet containing £7 at Palmerston on October 4, whereas ho did not post it. Accused pleaded guilty to both charges, and was committed to.. Wellington Supreme Court for sentence.
