ALLEGED ARSON

JURY DISAGREES: NEW TRIALORDERED. By Teleeraph—Press Association. Cisborne, December 7. At the Supremo Court, John Sheriff Dods, who has pleaded guilty to embezzling about £2000 from tho Gisborno Gas Company, was ifurther charged with arson in allegedly sotting tho company's officos on fire. The Crown suggested that the fire' was started with tho object of destroying tho firm's books, which contained evidence as to the defalcations to which Dods had confessed sinco the fire. After five hours' retirement tho jury disagreed. His Honour ordered a now trial for Monday.
