WHEAT, BRAN AND POLLARD PRICES
By Telegraph—Press Aseociiiti.in. Auckland, December 4. The Board of Trado is inquiring into the operation of the Order-in-Council fixing the- maximum prices of bran and pollard. . The board desires it to bo Known that bran should not be sold at more than £5 12s. per ten, pollard at 'not raoro than £9 2s. 6d., wholesale or retail, or by auction. Sales of wheat continue to be made in excess of tho gnzetted prices, ss. 9d. to 6b. lid. per bushel, f.o.b. south, according to quality. Formerly no restriction was placed on bona fide sellers of less than 50 bushels, but owing to the apparently •systematic abuse of the privilege it was withdrawn. Both-buyer and seller are liable to prosecution and heavy penaltics.
