BAD YEAR IN NEW SOUTH WALES. (Rec. December 2, 11.15 p.m.) Sydney, December 2. The premiums received by firo, marine, and accident insurance companies in New South Wales during the year 1916-17 totalled £1,762,168. The total losses were £1,104,254, to which hav« to bo added commission and agents' charges £208,409, other expenses and management £470,734, a grand total of £1,783,397. —Press Assn.
