Sir,—Aa the parent of a ohild'who /s sitting to-day and to-morrow for a junior scholarship examination, I should like tp ask the Education Department if it is really necessary to 'submit some of tho candidates to the jordeal of two examinations in one week. My boy attends the Island Bay School, where tho inspection of tho sixth standard wa3 in full swing only yesterday. In another school lam credibly informed that the scholarship candidates (were obliged to tako part in thoir Sohool examination this morning before jtKoy could obtain tho tioke'ts entitling *hem to sit at Victoria College.
