SIMPLER FOOD

A meeting was held in the schoolroom of tho Congregational Church, Wellington Terrace, last evening for the purpose of forming a league to promote the more general adoption by tho people of a meatless diot. Tho meeting was addressed by Miss D. 0. Smythe. She spoke of the bad effects of tho free uso of meat as a food, and also of the harm wrought by indulgence in alcohol, tobacco, .tea, and coffee, and generally of the benefits of living by a more simple diet. It was decided that it would be wiecr beforo going on to form a leaguo to wait until ft bigger meeting could be arranged.
