London, September 21. Mrs. Burnett, who has had charge of tho office canteen of the N.Z.AV.C.A. for somo time past and has done excellent work, has had to resign. She will probably bo succeeded by Mrs. D'Arcy Chaytor, who has been assisting hitherto. The executive committeo passed a resolution expressing the appreciation of the untiring energy and devotion to work shown by Mrs. Bur'nett. Miss Conyers, matron-in-chief of the Australian Army Nursing Service, has been granted six months' leave of absence to visit Australia. Miss Conyers is a New Zealander, and will celebrate the completion of her third year of war on the voyage home. Miss Jill Ilislop (Dunedin) and Miss L. Salmond, daughter of the SolicitorGeneral, have completed six months' agricultural work at Rickmansworth, and will now probably undertake \ r .A.D. work. Miss Enid E. Durie (Invercargdl), who arrived in England in August, 1916, tried later to get a passport for America or Africa, but was unsuccessful owing to the restrictions upon women travelling by sea; so she is now doing war work in London. Amongst recent changes on hospital staffs are the transfers of Sisters Brnyshaw, Miller, Mitchell, and Bcatty •to the Brockenhurst staff, the lastmentioned being from Oatlnnds, the others from Codford. Sister Lloyd joined the staff of the Codford Hospital on her arrival from New Zealand. The matrons of AValton and Brockenhurst, Miss P. Wilson and Miss Y. Mnrlonn, have been on leave together in Ireland. The marriage took place on August 4, at Hornchurch Parish Church, when Chaplain Mackenzie-Gibson officiated, of Private F. J. C. Smith, fifth son of Mr. P. Smith, 17 AVarrington Street, St. Albans, Christchurch, and Miss Gertrude Jane Burrell, of; 28 Park Lane, Romford, Essex. Rifleman C. Scott acted as best man. _ Sister Heathorinskm was appointed to the staff of Brorisenhurst Hospital, in the massage section, on her arrival from Now Zealand. Miss Margaret Thompson (Clinton), having completed more than two years in charge of one of the nurses' h-W'S attached to No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital at AValton, las now b(en appointed secretary to the Entertainment Committee of the Ne.v Zealand AVar Contingent Association at the central offices in Southampton Row.
