CONCRETE SPEEDWAY

TO BE LAID BY CONTRACT.

Questioned about the proposed improvement of the Hutt Road, by laying g™ a concrete motor track between Wellington and Petdne, the Mayor said that there would bo no difficulty about raising the money for the work. Mention would be made of the matter at tho next meeting of the council, when a proposal would bo put forward that the work should' be done by contract, probably with tho important exception of tho supply of cement, which the council itself might arrange for. It was hoped that a start with the work would bo made as early as possible now, so as to ta^e.advantage of tho finest and driest part of the year.
