ESTIMATE OF 6,-539,033. The Agricultural Department Lag decided, commencing with the current season, to compile and publish its lambing estimates as early as possible. As the North Island lambing is on the average about a month earlier than that of tlis South Island, the information for the reßpootive islands will be published separately in two successive months' issues of the Department's "Journal." The particulars for the North Island are now ready, and ate given in the following table, togetbar with corresponding figures for the tivo previous years:— .
