Tho following are European members of tho Aparima's crow not reported as having been safely landed Chief Officer Mr. Daniel (N.S.W.). Second Officer Mr. M'Donald (Scotland). Wireless Operator Mr. Milhngton (Auckland). Chief Engineer Mr. Rogerson (Gore). Stewards: Chief, Mr. Mackie (Cape Town); second, Mr. Christian (LiverP Boatswains Perry (England) and Cadets W. Williams and J. K. M'Kenzie (Auckland), Newton (Melbourne), R. Marshall (Westport), Massey (Gisborne), A. Marshall (K»itangata), D. Hoare, J. Proudfoot, (x. Bnrgrove (Christcliurch). Colin M Donald, A. Ramsay (Dunedin), Townselid (Victoria). Stacev (Melbourne), Bannatvne (Waikouaiti), Shaw (Greymouth), (jhalmers (Tasmania), and Smith (\Vaihiulni). Captain Gerald S. Doorly, commander of the ill-fated Aparima, was a Royal Naval Reserve man, and has seen service in tbo British Navy. He is also well known in the TJmon Company's service, and at different times had charge of several of the company a vessels in the Islands ana intercolonial trade. His wife resides at St. Hilda., Dunedin. . . ~ Mr. Daniel, chief officer of the Aparima, was one of the best-known and most capable officers in the Union Comnanv's service. When the Aparima was' the training ship lie was instructor of navigation to cadets. _ When Captain M'Donald died recently in England Mr. Daniel took charge of a new steamer for the company and brought her out to New Zealand. He then refined tho Aparima as chief officer. Pe was married some months ago to a New Zealand ladv. who is -understood to he now residing in Wellington.
