The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report, having conducted a clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Mr. H. K'Kenzie, at the farm, Te Horo, on Thursday. There was a Rood attendance of buyers, and tho cows which were a good lot sold well, 31 head averaging £12 2a. 6d. The best cows made £13, £13 10s.. £14, £14 155., £15, £15 .7s. 6d., £15 155., £16 55.; fair cows, £10 to £13: three-quartered cows, £8 15s. Messrs. Dalgetv and Coy., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a viry good entrv of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle at their Peilding sale on Friday. Competition was fair throughout the day, and practloally all lines were sold. Practically all lines changed hands at prices as below:—Sheep: Ewes and lambs, £2 7s. 6d.; mixed boggets, 365. Catt.lo: yearling heifers, £4 10s. to £5 55.; empty storo cows, £6 55.; light, fat and forward cows, £10 Is.; bulls, £9 10a. The Wairarana Farmers Co-operative Ae3ociation, Ltd.. Stock Department report having held their weekly sale at Carterton, when a good yarding of cattle and a medium one of sheep and nigs was submitted to a good attendance. Competition was keen for nearly all-classes of stock, and we have to report a successful sale. Following are the nuota-tions:-Sheep: Fat ewes and wethers, 28s. 6d. to 295. 6d. Wright, Stephenson and Coy., Ltd., report on their Eketahuna sale held on Friday:—Wo submitted a very _ fair yarding of sheen and cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was considerably more active than of late, and we were successful in effecting a total clearance at auction at the following prices :—Sheep: F.M. ewes and lambs, 395.; shore ewes with lambs at foot, 325.; store ewes (in wool), 28s. Id.; fat shorn ewes, 31s. Cattle: Springing cows, £10 to £10 55.; cows and calves, £10 65.; store cows, £6 10s. to £8 7s. 6d.; heifers, £6 55.; yearlins Jersey heifers, £4 {-.; 6mall yearling steers, £3 10s. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Coy., Ltd.. report on Tuesday's sale at Pahiatua:—A fair yarding of stook came forward to a very small attendance competition was not at all keen and a number of lines were passed in. Sales were mado at the undermentioned prices :—Forward storo cows. £9 ss. to £9 10s.; springing heifers, £5 155.; storo cows. £8 2s. 6d.; yearlinrs, £2 17s. 6d. to £4; Hereford bull, £9 10s.
Mr. Newton Kins; reports:—At Douglas, on Monday, there was a fair entry, for which the inquiry was good, but prices in most cases were above buyers' limits: consequently fewer sales wero made than usual, and these only at lower money than recent values. Bulls made from £9 to £10 10s.; 15-month heifers, £4 9s. to £5 65.; yearling to 15-month steers, £7 to £7 65.; empty 2-year heifers, £7 95.; store cows. £7 9a. to £8 155.; light fat cows, £10; springing heifers, £9 to £9 155.; woolly hoggets, 365.; 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 355. Bd. At Stratford on Tuesday: Yearling and 15-month steers made £6 7s. 6d. to £7 Zs. ,6d.; 15-month heifers, £4 10a. to £5 25.; yearling heifers, £3 10s.; 2-year-old Holstein empty heifers, £7 Bs. 6d.: bulls, £7 10s. to 13gns.; fat cows, £12; forward cows, £9; store cows. £7 to £7 16b.; shorn ewes, with lambs. 255. Bd. In the dairy pons springing heifers sold from £7 10s. to £14 15s. At Inglewood on Wednesday there, was a fair entry. Good springers were selling well and store cattle at reduced prices.
