REV'. GRAY-DIXON ELECTED MODERATOR,

Dunedin, November 24. At the Presbyterian Assembly to-day it was announced that tho Presbyteries had nominated for the Moderatorship in 1918 Professor Hewitson, the Revs. J. A. Asher, J. Cumming, Currie, and R. S. Gray-Dixon. _ Tho first four ot these withdrew their names, and tho Rev. Gray-Dixon was elected Moderator. , Tho Assembly appointed Mr. John Bissett, of Auckland, Assembly Evangelist, at a salary of £300, with travelling expenses, and £50 house allowance. The Rev. J. Gumming was appointed an Assembly Evangelist without financial responsibility. .
