Thomas Kiely, of Greymouth, a First Division Reservist, called tor military service in the ballot m July last, was tried by court-martial today There wore two charges, lie was found not guilty of desertion, but guilty of being absent. without leave when notified of a parade for medical examination, and was sentenced to three months' hard labour. Iho sentence will be promulgated in a district order. i
