FOOD SMUGGLING AND HOARDING
S ARRESTS IN FAMINE-STRICKEN GERMANY. Rotterdam, November 21. Extensive smuggling and food hoarding indicates that the Germans fear a scarcity in- tho winter. A hundred people were arrested at Cologne in connection with a single conspiraoy. The principal conspirators are railwnymen, who diverted nuge quantities of flour, butter, and fats to wrong destinations, labelled as "munitions" and afterwards sold the goods.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
