At the Arbitration Court to-day Mr. iWesley Richards, for four unions under the general labourers' award, applied dii the authority of the bonus clause to reopen tho award and ask for 7d. per hour extra wages or Is. 2d. per hour and the war bonus at present paid. The Court questioned the exorbitant demand. Hi. Richards:said it wa3 the usual procedure to ask for more than what was actually required. Mr. Richards 6aid he proposed to call strong and important evidence, showing the increased cost of living and the seriously unsatisfactory conditions prevailing. The employers' representative (Mr. Pryor) ridiculed the application, but tho Court decided to hear evidence, and set the hearing for next week. (
