WHAT THE SECRET SERVICE COSTS
A Civil Servico Supplementary Estimate for .£1,389,897 was issued recently as a British While Paper. Of this sum ,£300,000 is for the secret service, the original estimate having been £250,000, ,£529,856 for public education in Scotland, and .£384,000 for public education in Ireland. , , , A sum of ,£21,000 13 put down for the National War Museum of which .£16,000 is a- grant in aid of the purchase of exhibits, books, pictures, medals, photographs, posters, models, etc. The amount incurred for the repatriation of the staff of tho Anstro-Hunganan Embassy was £6020, while £6007 has been paid to superintending registrars and diocesan registrars in respect of stamp duty on soldiers' and sailors marriage licences.
