The following is the complete rerord of Saturday's play in the first round of the inter-club competition:—

A Section.—Khandallah beat Upper Hutt, 45—40; Newtown boat Hataitai, 152—137; Wellington beat Lyall Bay, 169 —130; Kelburn beat Wellington, 82—79. B Section—Victoria beat Lower Hutt, 187 —145; Thorndon v. Petone, games abandoned on local green owing to the death of Mr. E. W. Seaton; Eastbourne beat Seatoun (scores not forwarded).
