SOUTHERN MARKETS

By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, November 2. Outside of matters relating to next season's wheat crop there is nothing of interest in the local grain market. There are practically no oats available, though some business is still'doing in oatsheaf chaff. The potato market has'a little better tone, due to the fact ■ that the Auckland market is reported to he getting a share of supplies. There is therefore inquiry, and to supply immediate wants £2 Gs. and £2 7s. 6d. has been' paid at country stations. A few days ago .£2 ss. was the best price, and as low as £2 had been paid.
