OBITUARY
DR. ALBERT MARTIN. . The death occurred, in Wellington last evening of Dr. Albert Martin,.who ftafl well known hero for many years as a medical practitioner. • During the week Dr. Martin was-about as usual and enjoying good health. On Saturday Inst he performed an operation, and he afterwards told -Dr. Ewart that in the courso of it he pricked his thumb with a needle. On-Wednesday he was taken ill with acute-blood poisoning, and death followed in tho brief period of two days. The news will come as a severe blow to his relatives and many friends. , '. •• „. , Dr. Martin was horn in Wellington and was a son of the late Hon. J. Martin. Whena voung. man he :weut to Rngland to study for the medical profession, and he was for many yeare. at Guy's Hospital, where he had a distinguished career. Subsequently, he jas for nine years in charge of Guys. Hospital. "" , Dr.' Martin was 57 vc-irs of-age at the time of his'death. Ho leaves a-wife, a =on, and a daughter. 'Three of his brothers reside 'at ■MartinboroughMessrs. John, W. J., and' Arthur 'Martin. Mrs. Robert O'Connor, cf Wellington, is a sister.
