AUSTRALIA'S FIRST DIVISION IT THE FRONT. (Bee. October 30, 9.25 p.m.) Melbourne, October 30. Senator Pearce, Federal Defence Minister, has announced that after communicating with the Imperial authorities it has been found impossible to Ming back the first division from the front, chiefly owing to shipping difficulties. Other Dominions which had instituted similar negotiations had accented the British Government's reasons.—Press Assn.
