Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited. Palmerston North, report having a very good entry of both sheep-ana cattle at their Marton sale on Monday. Thero was a good attendance of buyers, and a very satisfactory elearanco was effected. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report that at their Otaki sale on Wednesday they offered a good yarding of sheen and cattle. Buyers wero present in force, and competition was keen, a clearance being effected at satisfactory prices. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly stock sale at the Miller's Road yards, Dannevirko on October 19. There was a fair attendance, and practically .everything sold. Quotations :-Cattle: Springing heifers, £7 155.; yearling heifers, from £4 ss. to £b; yearling steers, £5 4s. Pigs: Weaners, 12s. 6d. The same' firm also report having, held their fortnightly salo at Norsewood on Tuesday. There was not a very largo yarding of stock, but what they had realised good prices. Buyers of big cattle were not numerous, and several of the larfrer lines were pawed under the hammer, though most of them were disDosed of afterwards. Forward cows and yearling steers were in better demand, and practically all of these wer" sold at auction. yarding came forward—some 3000 bead being penned, of which we yarded 1000. Bidding for bullooks, forward cows and •yearling heifers was not up to recent market quotations, but for good breeding cows, cows and caJvcs, and yearling steers competition was good. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report:—At tho Palmerston North cattle fair on Thursday about 3000 cattle came forward, our offering comprising over 1300 head and a few pens of sheep. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers and farmers present from all parts. Grown steers were hard to uuit, but there was a good demand for well-bred tonalo and young stock. A couple of good lines of breeding cows brought £12 16s. and £13 135.; two lines of 20-months to 2-year Shorthorn heifers. £12 ss. and £12 respectively; 35-ycar steers, £15 Is.; 3-year steers, £14 10s.; 2J-ycar steers (Polled Angus), £14 10s.; light, fat, and forward cows, £Ji 10s. to, £12 10a.; forward cows, £10 Its. to £11 55.; speyed forward heifers, £11 12s. 6d.; 18months heifors, £6 IBs. 6d. to £7; yearling steers (good), £8 ss. to £9 25.; ditto (poor) £6 to £7 Bs.; yearling Holstein heifers, £6 ss. to £7 55.; good mixed yearlings, £7 ss. to £7 Bs.; yearling heifers, £5 ss. to £6 7s. 6d.
