Tho Wairarapa. Farmers department) roport on the Masterton- cattle fair as under:—An exceptionally hciiyy yarding was submitted, considerably in excess of advertised numbers, over 3000 head coming forward, which taxed the yards to their utmost capacity, several lots of the younger cattle having to lie accommodated in the sheep-pens. Generally speaking, the yarding was creditable to the Wairarapa district. In fact, such a large entry of grown cattle, comprising many station lines in forward condition, with quality predominating throughout, is seldom seen nowadays, and the public were not ulow to appreciate same. The dairy strain was certainly in evidence in the sheepyards, and while the "Taranakl roane" were somewhat out of pl.ace in a fair of this nature a considerable turnover resulted. The attendance -reas large, but buyers from a distance were not prominent, nnd taken rb a whole prices, quality considered, were hardly up to expectations. We yarded on behalf of "Brancepcth" and
"Anncdalo" stations 6ome exceptionally well-bred forward conditioned grown bullocks, the drafting of which was favourably commented upon, and whilst soma of the pens were paesetf at auction a total clearance was subsequently made at prices satisfactory to the vendors. Wo quote:—On behalf of "Branccneth" >Sta-tion:-150 three-ycaT-old forward-condition-ed bullocke, £17; 1A smaller. £15 10a.; 44 Rtorc cows, £11 3s.
