In a debate in the Chamber, of Deputies upon an interpellation, moved by a Republican and supported by a Socialist, criticising the Government's general policy, M. Painlere „(Prime Minister), in replying, dwelt onshe difficulties encountered, especially in the matter of supply transport and as a result of strikes. He emphasised the Government's reoolution to prosecute the war until Alsace-Lor-raine had been restored, and reminded the Chamber that Mr. Lloyd George for the first time had officiallv declared that Britain would 6tand beside France till Alsace-Lorraine had been restored. The Chamber voted confidence in ihe Government by 3GB to 95—Reuter.
