BARON SHAUGHNESSY APPEALS TO FRENCH-CANADIANS
A FRANK MANIFESTO
(Itec. October 17, 5.5 pjn.) Ottawa, October 17. Baron Shaughnessy (president of the Canadian Paoifio Railway) has issued a manifesto to the Fronch-Canadiane urging that military service is necessary, suggesting ils extension to all branches: of industry for furnishing war material, and advocating the punishment of "frothy jingoes," whose only contribution to the country is their language.— Aus.-N.Z.
