NEW WAR REGULATIONS
FOR THE COOK ISLANDS. War regulations for the Coolc Islands Hfero gazetted last night. They provide: f 1. By the order or with the authority for a .Resident Commissioner under,.the Ujook Islands Act, 1915, any alien- enemy the Cook Islands niay be arrested and detained in such manner and in such 'jilace within those islands as the Resident Commissioner thinks fit, and during ,<his pleasure, unless discharged by the Minister of Defence." 2. Any alien enemy Fo 1 arrested may by the order of a Resident Commissioner ha deported in cus- ' tody to New Zealand, thoro to undergo Bucn detention (if any) as a military authority may direct under the authority conferred upon Mm in respect of alien enemies by the War Regulations in force in New Zealand. 3.
