THE SHIPPING HOLD-UP Sydney, October 10. Owing to the trouble ivith the seamen at '.Melbourne, inter-State shipping in all the States has been rendered idle. All sailings have been cancelled. The shipping position is again acute. In anticipation of the resumption of sailings, the merchants had attempted to load quantities of foodstuffs for New Zealand, and had placed large orders for fruit, which ! were loaded, ready to sail, but which had to be discharged. The Union Company expected to dispatch five steamers this week, but had to pay off the crews. The company is awaiting developments iu Jlelbour-ne.— Press Association,
