VINDICTIVE STRIKE WOMEN
CRT OF A MOTHER CALLOUSLT IGNORED., What bitterness has been born of-tho striko was instanced recently (says Ilia. Sydney "Telegraph"), when a. volunteer worker died at Wallarah and his grave was declared "black." That shocked the community, but, otherwise no harm was done to nnyone-4east of all to the dead man whose gravo was subsequently strewn with wreaths from' the loyal workers, and whoso widow, in Amorica, will shortly receive a photograph of tho memorial erected by his mates. Later, however, the vindictive feelings of somo of the strikers were allowed lo affect an unborn child. 4 One of the volunteers at a inino in another part of the State was accompanied by his wife, who wished to havo her husband near during her hour of trial. It will be scarcely credited that the women of the place havo boycotted her, and in the bitterest hour of travail refused to render her any assistance! At 3 o'clock in the afternoon an urgent message lo tho National, Bureau required the immediato assistance of a woman at one of tho mines. The preceding details were given, and, it was stated that although a doctor was in attendance no nurse or woman attendant could he got. The case was reported to the Women's Loyal service Bureau, at the Education Department, and within two hours a volunteer rurse was speeding to the assistanco of tho prospective mother.
